Lightning Logbook Vol 1 – By Ian Black
LIGHTNING LOGBOOK – VOLUME 1
Rare photographs. Untold stories. One remarkable aircraft.
Lightning Logbook Volume 1 is the first in a new series from former RAF Lightning pilot and author Ian Black, opening up his extraordinary personal archive of Lightning photography and stories.
Across approximately 100 pages in A4 landscape format, Volume 1 brings together rarely seen and previously unpublished images, accompanied by Ian’s first-hand insight from a lifetime spent around the English Electric Lightning, both behind the camera and in the cockpit.
Created in a new MRGA-ZINE format (Make Reading Great Again), the Logbook is designed to make Ian’s extensive archive more accessible, more affordable and, crucially, get these photographs and stories out of the boxes and into the hands of people who appreciate them.
Better still, 100% of the proceeds go directly towards Project P1B, helping fund the restoration of original Lightning prototype XA847 for display at the Goodwood Revival in September 2026.
So you're not simply buying a Logbook. You're helping preserve a piece of British aviation history.
